Our Mandate

The Sierra Leone Airports Authority (SLAA) as a public service organization statutorily charged with the responsibility of managing the Freetown International Airport, Hastings Airports and all other Airports in Sierra Leone and provide service to both passenger and cargo airlines.

Our Mission

To provide a safe, user friendly and effective airport system; operate a sustainable airport with minimal impairment to the environment; and to maintain airport facilities to international standards by utilizingOptimum human and material resources; and provide services to the community within the frame work of national development objectives.

Our Vision

To transform Freetown International Airport to a regional hub, facilitate the transshipment of Cargo and passengers thereby rendering Freetown International Airport an attractive destination of choice for all Passengers worldwide.

Business Policies

The Sierra Leone Airports Authority (SLAA) performs its statutory duties, according to the policy guidelines provided by the Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Transport and Aviation. The Authority is guided by these in all of its business dealings and agreements with contractors and various third parties with which it does business. SLAA welcomes the private sector to partner with it in various areas of its statutory mandate to provide adequate infrastructure and facilities and service delivery to support the aviation industry in Sierra Leone.

Corporate Governance

SLAA shall observe business policies that are in conformity with the policies of the Government of Sierra Leone as regards contracts and business agreements. It shall observe appropriate due process practices in line with government policies which are also in conformity with global best practices in the international aviation industry.

All its business and service agreements are transparent and follow established government policies.
